About three by 3 logo

A professional by vocation, a poet by avocation, Michael writes verse linked to a life well-lived on multiple continents. Born in New York City, the American idiom defines him as his native voice. His exotic accent comes from residing in Latin America and Europe for over thirty years.

After graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in international business and a Master’s in marketing, his career began abroad, with scientific, technical and medical book publishing its path. Starting as a sales representative for the McGraw Hill Book Company’s Latin American Division, he left the Company as Managing Director of the Iberian subsidiary. The next step was Vice President for Latin America of the CBS Publishing Group, which, in turn, led him to a fork in the road. Instead of working for others, he started his own company, Interbook Marketing Services.

Now retired, he feels more and more at home in St. Petersburg, Florida. Writing poetry, fly fishing, art collecting, participating in cultural activities, serving on the board of Yellow Jacket Press, a non-profit poetry chapbook publisher, are some of his pastimes.

three by 3 is Michael’s ongoing poetry journal.  Commencing in June 2012, every third month 3 poems are posted along with commentary. Several are available in audio format read by him, and in one instance sung by a Brazilian folk singer. As of December 2022, the number of poems was revised to 2.

His poetry has appeared in The Columbia Review, Potomac, Montserrat Review, 2 River View, The Lucid Stone, Kimera, Mixed Nerve, A Little Poetry, Octavo, Sandhill Review, Poetry Magazine, Miller’s Pond, Warrior Poet, The Sacred Cow, The Bitchin’ Kitsch, Verse-Virtual, The Open Mouse, Passager Journal, Arboreal Magazine and other electronic and print media.
